General Listing Information

What information do I need to sell homes on VOD?

To sell homes on VOD, you will need to have ready:

  • Up to 3 digital photos of the property you are listing
  • The address of the property you are listing
  • The details and description of the property you are listing

How do I add a home listing?

The site guides you through the following 8 easy steps:

  • Step 1: Ad Options
    Choose the type of listing you want to advertise.
  • Step 2: Profile Information
    Fill out agent and agency information.
  • Step 3: Ad Information
    Fill out information about your listing, such as property price, square feet, lot size, and so on.
  • Step 4: Photo Options
    Upload and position up to 3 photos.
  • Step 5: Display Options
    Select template and color scheme for your listing.
  • Step 6: Audio Options
    Select voiceover narration or music bed.
  • Step 7: Preview Ad
  • Step 8: Confirm & Submit Ad

How will buyers contact me?

Your contact information displays with your movie on screen. Buyers can contact you by calling the phone number you provided with your advertisement or by visiting the URL listed on your ad.

What browsers do you support?

We support Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 3 for both Windows and Macintosh operating systems.

Photography

Can I use my digital camera?

Yes, any available digital camera is capable of taking a picture of your property, which you can upload easily to the website.

How many photos can I use in a movie?

The movie is 15 seconds in length; you can upload and position up to 3 photos. Each image displays for 5 seconds.

What does the camera movement option do?

Certain templates let you specify camera movements to make your listing and images more engaging. Camera angles pan from side to side, while zoomed shots emulate a custom-produced video tour. Choose camera movement in Step 4: Photo Options.

Is there a photo size requirement?

The optimum photo dimension is 800 pixels wide by 600 pixels tall, though you can use other sizes. Photo size may also depend on the template you select for your ad. The larger the images you use, the better your ads look on television.

Which file formats are accepted for photos?

All photos must be submitted in jpg or png format.

Display

How do I know what template and color scheme to use?

You can let the system choose a template for you, or you can easily select a layout template from several options available to you in Step 5: Display Options. To find out the photo size requirements and view a sample, roll your mouse over each template. Once you select a template, the page reloads with available colors for the template you chose.

How do I add co-branding/partner information to my add?

Step 2: Profile Information includes an opportunity for you to add a partner logo, for use on templates 1–6 only.

Step 5: Display Options offers another opportunity to add partner information such as name, Web site URL, and logo if you select Template 7, the co-branded template option.

Are there other options to make my ad more compelling?

You can enter an optional message, which appears in a starburst in all your ads.

Do I have to go through the same display options every time I create a listing?

You can set default display options under Manage Home Listings Profiles that lets you automatically apply a template, color scheme, and optional starburst message to ads you create.

Will I get a chance to look at my ad before I purchase it?

You will preview your ad in Step 7: Preview Your Ad. Note that your ad may take up to a minute to load, depending on your Internet connection.

What if I make a mistake?

If you want to change anything about your ad, simply click the Back button and change your information, even after you have clicked Save & Next. Remember, ads are not activated until you pay for them, so even if you approve an ad in Step 8, you can still delete an ad on the Manage My Ads page and start over.
